Cime
Atelier George at Une Fille aux Cheveux Noirs
In French, «cime» qualifies the treetop, a nod to the project’s theme, that visually focuses on flora imprints.
Lighting and decorative objects are made from molten glass, poured upon dried
plants, thus encapsulating the shape and phantom of the natural element.
Each piece of the Collection is dedicated to one species: the “Thistle” wall
lamp, joins the “Pine” candleholder, or the “Bark” table lamp, all made
according to the seasonal cycle of the used greenery.
Atelier George
The Atelier George is a French design and glassblowing studio. Each
piece is hand-made using hot glass crafting techniques. To bring you a
set of unique objects, the crafting process and the color finish makes
every piece slightly different from the next.

The Collection
In 2022, Cime was born. Cradled by planetary upheavals, this Collection encapsulates traces of the surrounding environment. From gathered dry twigs, frozen by fire, emerge solid glass forms.
They then light up, on a table or a wall, to compose collectible design pieces. Thus, these elements pass from one world to another, from vegetable to mineral, from fleeting to immutable.
Following the cycle of the seasons, the shoot becomes foliage. When autumn leaves start to fall, begins the setting in transparency. Each object carries within it fragments of this story that extends in our earthly and material lives.
Eve George
Originally trained as a designer, Eve grew up and studied in Paris. After completing her degree at the Ecole Boulle and following a graduate course at ENSCI les ateliers, she decided to learn a variety of glassmaking techniques, including glassblowing, to give a material shape to some of her ideas.
The Atelier George project, built with a view to integrating the methods and the workflow of product design, soon became a fertile ground to experiment with new projects.
Laurent Fichot
Laurent, an artisan glassblower, was born to a family of ceramicists. After learning woodturning and spending many hours working in his parent’s workshop, he turned to glassblowing, inspired by a fascination for this both supple and fragile
material.
After having worked for fifteen years at the most prestigious French glassmaking companies (Saint Louis, Lalique, Biot), where he acquired more than enough skills to put his ideas into practice, he decided to create his own objects, with Eve, in Atelier George.
Eve and Laurent met in 2012 while working on a project at the International Center for Glass Arts in Meisenthal (CIAV), in the East of France.
Since then, they have continued to make glass objects hand in hand, up to the foundation of the Atelier George, which embodies their symbiotic relationship. They shape glass hand in hand, thus making their ideas come to life.
